How do they do it?! How do they post great content daily?!
Maybe a question you ask yourself when we see our favorite bloggers, photographers and content creators pictures and posts everyday.
And girl, the answer is simple. They have a content calendar.
And also, lucky for you we’re gonna help you create your own!
1. Think about your audience
Good content always has a starting: your audience.
Which means you better know your audience inside and out!
While it’s important to map out your existing audience members and think about what content they want to see, you should also explore who you want to have viewing your content. This information can be captured in different content personas that reflect your targeted audience.
Whether you’re looking at your existing audience or your target audience, you should be informed of the content you create.
Are you not sure if you should create a certain piece of content?
Ask yourself if it aligns to your targeted audience.
If it doesn’t, then you probably shouldn’t be investing time into it.
2. Research what content performs best
In order to plan and create successful content, you need to know what success looks like.
Start by looking at content you’ve produced in the past and examine what worked best for you!
What content got the most likes?
What content got the most comments?
What content got the most shares?
What content got the most views?
What content got the highest engagement rate?
3. Repurpose existing content
Take a look at what content you already have.
Ask yourself the following questions:
What’s still useable?
What can be updated?
What can be repurposed?
What can’t be reused?
If the content falls into the first three categories they have potential to become repurposed content that will form the basis of your content calendar.
4. Create an overview of major events
Alright girl, you’ve got your content now let’s take a look at what the heck is going on this month!
Create a calendar and map out important events throughout the year, particularly those that you want to create content around.
You don’t want to miss out on the phone on international donut day!
If your business is affected by the change of seasons be sure to include that in your calendar!

5. Figure out calendar processes
You’ve got your content and you’ve got your calendar, now it’s time to figure out your schedule.
First, decide how often you’re going to post on each social media.
Next, determine your content mix— how much of each type and category of content you’ll publish.
Make sure you give yourself enough time before planned content weeks, to produce fresh content as well for more weeks to come!
6. Plan and schedule content ahead of publication
Now that you’ve marked all the important dates on your content calendar and set up a process for content planning, it’s time for the fun part: new content.
Once you have themes to go along with your dates, it’s time to figure out your individual content pieces.
If you have a big upcoming event in your calendar you’ll want to plan content around that! Take advantage of all the things!
Plan your content, create your content, then schedule your content.
Simple in theory, much harder in practice.
But with a little organization you’ll be be able to post away!
We can’t wait to see what you’ve planned out! 😉
